According to the official primeminister.kz website, Kazakhstan took additional steps to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus and stopped issuing visas to Chinese citizens.

Since January 29, all passenger bus and train transportation between Kazakhstan and China has been suspended. On February 3, another rule will come into effect – regular air transportation with neighboring China would also be suspended.

Those who bought a ticket and didn't use it because of the ban can take their money back. Kazakhstani Civil Aviation Committee issued a relevant rule.

Kazakhstan refused an offer from the International Tennis Federation to host the regional Fed Cup event that initially was scheduled for February 4 to 8 in Dongguan, China. Also, the country said that it is not ready to host the Asian Water Polo Championships in February.

All issues concerning the coronavirus is monitored by a special cross-agency commission that gathers information in a 24/7 regime. As of January 29, there have been no incidents of coronavirus infection in Kazakhstan.

At the moment, 5578 locals in China have gotten sick from the coronavirus, with 131 dead and 107 in recovery.
